Long Beach Polar Bears Super Bowl Splash 2007

This Sunday, February 4, 2007, at 1:00 PM, come join the thousands of people at the Riverside Boulevard Beach who will be taking a dip in the frigid Atlantic Ocean for charity!

In memory of Paulie Bradley, the Long Beach Polar Bears Super Bowl Splash raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that enriches the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting their wishes. The Long Beach Polar Bear Club, which was started by Kevin McCarthy and Pete Meyers, organizes the event.

4th Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival

The Long Beach Public Library and local merchants are sponsoring the 4th Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival, going on from Thursday, September 7, through Sunday, September 10, at various locations around the city. See the full schedule for more details.

Performing acts include the Debbie Knapper Band, the Dean Brown Band, Steve Adelson, Ben Lacy, FATJAZZ featuring Chris Culver and Dave Lobenstein, and many more. Also, enter the free raffle for a chance to win a guitar, courtesy of Michael's Music.
